Activated charcoal from coconut shells is ground into a fine powder. When you brush with this powder it acts like tiny little sponges to absorb and attract stain off of your teeth through a process called adsorption (it's science).
Wet your toothbrush and dip into the jar to get a small amount of powder on your brush, then brush your teeth for 1-2 minutes, like you've done your whole life.
Less is more with this stuff, a good rule of thumb is always a little more water and a little less charcoal.
